1tathyambu – ‘tathAstu’ – ‘so be it’ or ‘Amen’ - This is the way of affirming a statement.

In the books, this word has been translated as an assertion by SrI tyAgarAja that he is a true devotee (nija dAsuDu). However, the construction of the words ‘nija dAsuDu ani tathyambu palku’ cannot be translated as an assertion by SrI tyAgarAja. He demands ‘tathAstu’ from the Lord.
